About Claire

Claire is an HPCSA registered independent Educational Psychologist. She completed her undergraduate and Honours degrees in Psychology at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). In addition she completed her Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) at UKZN, specialising in high school English First Language, English Second Language and Life Orientation. In 2011 she completed her Masters in Education Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Claire completed her internship at Epworth Children’s Village in 2012 and was trained within the psychodynamic paradigm. She presented her Masters research “Academic Writing Ability and Academic Performance of First Year University Students in South Africa” at the International Congress of Psychology (ICP) in Cape Town in 2012. She is currently planning on beginning her PhD through the University of Witwatersrand. Claire writes regularly for various parenting and mental health magazines and journals on a variety of topics.

From January of 2014 to September of 2015 Claire worked at Eden College as part of the therapy team. Claire is now working at Cedarwood School. In addition to her work at Cedarwood Claire runs a private practice in the afternoon and on the weekends. She occasionally conducts workshops or talks at various schools or institutions on a variety of topics.
